RESPONSE: Download Response CardTuesday, October 7 at 12:00 noon we will be celebrating the second anniversary of the Chamber’s Women In Business group. Two years ago, with a grant provided by Time Warner Cable, the Chamber held a kick-off meeting. The intention of the Board of Directors was to get a feel of the interest in our community for such a group. Our response was OVERWHELMING! Since the initial meeting, we have held quarterly Women In Business Meetings, offering various program topics of interest to women business leaders.
Granville Health System has been an incredible sponsor for the meetings throughout the years, assisting with program planning, providing door prizes and other sponsorships. Janet Herzberg, representing GHS, has served on the committee as has Chamber Board Member Linda Taylor of Coldwell Banker Advantage. Recently, Janet Stallings of Fidelity Bank and Glenda Williams of Nationwide Insurance/Jimmy Williams & Assocs. have joined the committee.
This year’s anniversary event will be held Tuesday, October 7 at 12:00 noon in Oxford Baptist Church’s Family Life Center. We are pleased to announce that Hilda Pinnix-Ragland, Vice-President, Northern Region, for Progress Energy, will be our guest speaker. Hilda joined Progress Energy, then Carolina Power and Light Company, in 1980 and has served in a variety of positions in the company’s communications, customer operations, customer service, economic development, management services, treasury and auditing functions. She has been an officer of the company since 1998. Prior to coming to CP&L, she was an auditor with Arthur Anderson & Co. and an accountant with Colgate-Palmolive, both in New York. Hilda is truly a woman who has pursued her goals and achieved high. She is a remarkable role model. We are honored to have her as our guest presenter for this third annual celebration.
Chamber member Simply Delicious Catering and Cakes of Creedmoor will be preparing lunch in their customary grand style for this special occasion. Lunch reservations will be due Monday, September 29th.
Formal invitations will be mailed with specific information and an email invitation will also be sent. We welcome women to attend this informative, enjoyable networking opportunity. Come celebrate with us! Costs are: $14 Chamber Members — $16 Non-Chamber Members
