SOUTH COUNCIL MEETING

South Council Members and all interested Chamber members are invited to attend the August meeting. Bob's Barbecue's private dining room will be the venue, and attendees will enjoy their "dutch treat" lunch prior to the program.
Jeanette Cash, chairperson of the South Council Group, is pleased to announce that at this meeting, Joan Reid will offer an eye-opening look at the school dropout challenge in North Carolina and Granville County. Learn how the high school dropout rate affects the county, what is being done currently and how the community can support local efforts.
Joan Reid is the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent for the Granville County Extension Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension. She came to Granville County is January 2004 from Ohio with 15 years of experience with Ohio State University Extension. While she covers all areas of Family and Consumer Science in Granville County, most of her time is devoted to family money management, wellness/nutrition and working with the LiveWell Granville Youth Issues Workshop on increasing the graduation rate and with the Extension Volunteer Association.
