LEADERSHIP GRANVILLE

In a program designed to offer a formalized leadership development course, the Granville County Chamber of Commerce, Granville County Schools, and Vance-Granville Community College have joined forces to present Leadership Granville.
The program offers citizens of Granville County the opportunity to acquire knowledge of the community and develop leadership potential. It offers new citizens an opportunity to become personally and professionally acquainted with county structure and life, which can benefit their present and future leadership.
OBJECTIVES
Select highly-qualified, potential, and emerging leaders who are most likely to give to the community.
Include participants from various sectors of the community to establish a network for future communication and understanding.
Provide leadership skill training, i.e., problem solving, group dynamics, future planning, etc.
Study community issues, perspectives, and functions.
Create direct lines of communication between participants and existing community leaders.
Communicate the benefits of Leadership Granville to the community.

Update August 1, 2007
An exciting year awaits Leadership Granville's Class of 2007-08. The Steering Committee has worked diligently to plan interesting and fun sessions for the participants.
This year, the Steering Committee will be led by Cecila Wheeler, VGCC's South Campus Director, who is serving as Chairman. Other officers are Deborah Weary, Granville Economic Development Commission, Vice-Chairman; Eleanor Fowler, retired, Facilitator; Donna Hosch, City of Oxford, Secretary and George Summers, retired, Treasurer.
Returning members are Jodi Anderson, Granville County Schools; Kathy Arrington, retired; Eddie Crews, NC Probation and Parole; Ginnie Currin, Granville County Chamber of Commerce; Mary Y. Epps, Granville County Schools; Hubert Gooch, Granville County Commissioner; June Manning, Union Bank and Trust Co.; Annie Nesbitt, Granville Health System; Barb Rote, volunteer; and Jim Wrenn, Hopper, Hicks and Wrenn, Attorneys-at-Law.
New members of the Steering Committee are: Charlie Easton, representing the Granville County Cattlemen's Association and Monique Powell, representing Vance-Granville Community College.
