Ambassador chairman, MIKE McCONCHIE, hit the ground running . . . becoming involved in many organizations. His involvement with our Chamber began when he became a member in 2008. Just this year, he agreed to serve as chairman of the Ambassadors group.
McConchie was in big box retail management for over 30 years, running everything from stores to companies. He also was a business consultant for International Profit Associates, the 14th largest consulting company in the world.
As owner of an ActionCoach franchise, Mike currently coaches small and mediumsize business owners in Granville, Vance, Warren, Wake and Durham counties, as well as in Kansas and Myrtle Beach, to increase their sales and profits, all while working less hours. He is a Certified Business Coach for ActionCOACH, the world's largest business coaching firm with over 1,000 coaches in 32 countries.
He grew up in northern Virginia, graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, and is married with two married children. He and his wife are excitedly expecting their first grandchild! After living up and down the East Coast — ten years in Florida — they moved back to Raleigh in 1999. They "found" Granville County, built their dream home and moved here in 2007.
Mike says that "Coaching is not just for sports. I help business owners go beyond where they normally go if left to their own devices."
We are fortunate to have him as an involved and supportive citizen and business owner in Granville County.
